Cats have many cute and lovable qualities, but one of the best things about them is the fact that they are quite easy keepers. However, while giving your pet food, shelter, and ear scritches may cover her most essential needs, kitties do need more than that to truly thrive. Here, a Scottsdale, AZ vet discusses keeping Fluffy content.

Cats certainly do love their beauty rest, but they can get quite bored with nothing to do. Make sure that your furball has plenty of toys to play with. We also recommend taking time to play with your feline friend regularly, even if it’s just for a few minutes. This will be great for Fluffy, both mentally and physically!

Window Seats

Did you know that birdwatching is one of Fluffy’s favorite pastimes? Make your furball a comfy window seat, where she can relax and watch local wildlife. Putting a birdfeed in your kitty’s line of view will make this even more fun for her!

Proper Veterinary Care

While visiting us may not be your cat’s favorite pastime, Fluffy will both look and feel better with proper veterinary care. Make sure your kitty sees the vet regularly!

Kitty Furniture

While our furry buddies generally don’t mind ‘borrowing’ our beds and sofas, they do benefit from having things that were made specifically to suit their needs. Get Fluffy some comfy pet furniture. Cat towers are great, but your kitty may also enjoy a pet tent or tipi. A good scratching post is also a must.

Feline Comforts

Always keep Fluffy’s well-being in mind. If you leave your kitty home alone while you go off to work to earn money for cat food, keep your climate control running, and leave a light and a radio on. A clean litterbox is also a must. Sometimes small touches make a huge difference!

Fluffy may try to make us think that she’s a cold, aloof killer, but many cats are quite the little lovebugs, and get very attached to their humans. Keep your feline pal’s motor going by making sure she feels loved and safe. How do you do that? Pet her, talk to her, play with her, and let her snuggle up with you when she wants.
